October Update- Fall Festival Fun

Nov 4, 2019

It’s been an exciting past month here at camp. A month full of change and new events. Most notably, the debut of our Fall Festival. This event was unique this year because it was planned and run almost entirely by our team of interns. It took weeks of planning, dreaming, and creating to pull off this fantastic fall extravaganza.

We saw several hundred attendees during the 4 Saturdays of the Fall Festival. Some of the highlights this year were our petting zoo, which was full of lovable, furry friends. Our hay maze and giant slide which was wonderfully built by our interns. Our pumpkin forest hunt, which was a new way to pick pumpkins. Our hub activities included crafts, face painting, photo booth, and more. Our iconic Sweet Shop and coffee shop, which both served out decadent treats and drinks.

Overall, the Fall Festival proved to be a great event for the whole family. Our staff showed wonderful teamwork and used their creativity well to make this event happen. The guests who came through each Saturday were able to experience the joy of fall at camp and have fun too!

Looking to the future, it’s not too early to think about the spring/summer retreats and camps. We are looking forward to our skate nights starting this month. Make sure to mark your calendar for the skate nights on November 15th, as well as the retreats such as young adult retreat, youth retreat, man camp, and the women’s retreat!

Fall is definitely a transitional season for just about everyone. It’s no different here at camp. The past month has been full of change, but there’s beauty in the middle of it too. It’s been a joy to watch our staff step in their roles to pull off an event like the Fall Festival or just serving guests and the Lord well. After a busy season of growth and change, we are anticipating the holiday season before us. How wonderful to know that while things will consistently change here, God will consistently be faithful too.

In Christ,

The Maranatha Team
