February Update- Reclaiming Lives

Mar 5, 2020

We are less than three months away from the arrival of our new summer staff and the beginning of summer! Can you believe it? We cannot wait for this summer and the things God will accomplish. But what about the things God is accomplishing now?

You know, so many people assume that outside of summer months, Maranatha does not have that much going on. It is easy to assume that most of our ministry accomplished May-August, but it is not. This past month has been the beginning of our retreat season. The ENGAGE conference and the Winter Youth Retreat filled camp with so much life and joy. It is so wonderful to have a little piece of the summer in the middle of February. The beauty of it all is that God is still changing lives even during the winter months.

For winter youth retreat we saw over 200 people join us for a weekend of fun and worship. We had kids who had never be exposed to the church or Jesus experience the joy of Christ. Lives were changed by the Gospel. Discouraged hearts were upturned towards the Lord. Young hearts were able to get away from the pressures of life and just rest. As we focused on the theme of “Reclaim” we saw so many young lives surrendered to the pursuit of Christ. We can say without a doubt that that weekend was a pleasure to be a part of.

We have several more retreats coming up in the next month. Even though they are not filled with hundreds of people like the summer months, lives can still be changed. We get to provide an environment for people to come away from their everyday lives and spend time with the Lord. This goes to show that no matter where we are, God can still change our hearts!
