Volunteer at Maranatha
Impactful – Fun – Community – Servanthood
Why volunteer?
Volunteering at camp allows you to experience the commitment, fun, and community, that is part of being on our ministry team. It is a hands-on, tangible way to live out your faith through service. And there are many kinds of opportunities! Whatever area you serve in as a volunteer, you enable our guests to connect with the Lord and each other, and you are also a huge encouragement to our staff.
Basic Expectations
Here is what our volunteer commitment looks like for multi-day youth events:
- Camp provides meals and lodging (lodging varies based on availability)
- Volunteers commit to a 7+ hour daily shift
- As-needed roles (we cannot always guarantee exclusive shifts in a single preferred area)
- Complete application, sign advance orientation and policy handbook
- Background check and child abuse prevention training required in advance
For partial day volunteers, we are able to provide 1-2 meals near most shifts, and the shift time may be shorter depending on the event.
For non-youth events, there may be reduced advance-onboarding requirements.
At Maranatha, the Lord works and He provides for his work, and as a volunteer you are His instrument.
Types of Roles
When you apply to volunteer, you will be able to indicate preferred roles from a list. If you need to get an idea of the roles in advance, please refer to the listing of positions on our Summer Ministry Team webpage, as a majority of these areas are also volunteer needs at various times during our events.
