Experiences & Logistics

A little bit of what camp life looks like…

MISSIONAL LIVING

Living on-mission is the driving reason to join the team- camp ministry is a real and tangible way to give freely by serving and caring for others, and to be a part of local gospel-advancing efforts. The Word of God explains to us that it is more blessed to give than receive (Acts 20:35), and as we do ministry, we encounter a multitude of blessings, from making a difference in the lives of guest and staff, pointing people to the Lord, witnessing and knowing the Lord more, and seeing His provision and care.

Community

There is nothing like stepping into the separate world that camp is. Working, living, and enjoying creation together in community is one of the biggest reasons team members return year-to-year.  Hebrews 10:24-25 guides us to spur each other to love and good deeds, encourage each other, and not to make sure to gather in community with other believers. We hope you can enjoy the special seasonal lifestyle of living in our unique community and also walk away with great friendships.

Our leadership team is eager to help foster and guide a healthy community experience for you as staff. But when you show up, you have the opportunity to live-out, build, and contribute to that community. Whether it is in how you show up to serve, how you connect with others, how you contribute your perspectives, or how you have fun, our team is praying for your experience of community at Maranatha Bible Camp.

TIMe Off

Our team takes 1-2 days off every week. One of them is most often Sunday, but there are some exceptions depending on event schedules.

Spiritual Development

We believe that each person’s faith is their own, and we also believe in the role of the church body in growing together. Our team has prepared times of spiritual development in staff training week, weekly staff chapels, individual check-ins, and other gatherings. There will be discretionary time as well for sitting in on guest program chapels, resting, praying, conversations, quiet times, and recreating. Come open to being poured-into, and also committed to seeking the Lord. We find it important that our team realizes that we will get out what we put in, while everything that we have to invest is given the Lord. Staff members should be ready to participate with eager hearts.

Meals & Housing

Dorm style accommodations with air conditioning and hallway restrooms are provided. These are 4-person rooms with two bunk sets and a small closet. Storage space is limited, so be considerate. Consider using totes or other-organizers, packing enough and not overly-heavy, and keeping your space tidy.

Whenever we have a campers or guest groups present, meals are provided. When guests are not present, we will have simpler grab-n-go items or leftovers available, in addition to occasional prepared or ordered-in meals, to enable our foodservice staff to rest as well.

Additional Details & perks

In-development, more information to come by the end of November.
