March Update- Living in Uncertainty

Apr 3, 2020

What a month of change. There’s not one of us who has not been affected by the uncertainty of a pandemic. For us at Maranatha, the future does certainly feel full of unknowns. Right now the greatest lesson most of us are learning is how to live in uncertainty. When life begins to be unsure, many of us worry. But that tends to cause more of a hindrance than a help.

Right now for many of us, our hope hangs by a thread. Looking at the future is like looking through a fogged-up window. Each step we take seems to feel heavy. We have gone from feeling pretty certain of the future to not. It’s amazing how quickly life changes. We assume that good things like family, friends, houses,  and jobs, will all just keep being certain. But life is as unstable as the sand on the seashore.

As a camp, we stand on the edge of more uncertainty, it can be easy to cling to other things rather than Christ. We speak of Christ as being our Cornerstone, our Rock; yet we can question His firmness when life gets rough. Thankfully the Bible is full of so many assuring times where God is proclaimed as the Rock, our Refuge, our Hiding Place, our Fortress, our Security. He is worthy of every ounce of trust we have. The future and plans are sinking sand, but Christ is the same, secure Cornerstone that He has always been. That hope in Christ gives our hearts assurance that no matter what comes, God is in control and He is still going to change lives.

What you can do to support our ministry during this time:

Pray for our summer programs to be able to happen- We know that no matter what, God will work and provide for us. We are praying that the gathering bans will be lifted in time for us to celebrate with summer camps!

Purchase from our online gift shop- We have a variety of new merchandise that we can ship right to your front door. This is an easy way to help support us financially during this time!

-Join us for the Virtual Spring Fundraiser- In lieu of a live event, we will be having our Spring Fundraiser via video this year. We will have wonderful testimonies from Paul Knott and Josie Halbgewachs, and other updates on the work God has done through camp. Join us on April 16th at 6:30 PM for this event!

Even with uncertainty, we are anticipating great things from the Lord in the next few months. He is still good and faithful!

“The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my savior; my God is my rock, in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety.” -Psalms 18:2
