July Update- Moving Forward

Sep 7, 2020

“Our kids love it here, there’s this great balance of activity and fun, but also relaxation and refreshment. we are so grateful for camp and plan on coming for many years!”

-Quote from the Brown Family, one of our 2020 family campers!

The leadership and staff at Maranatha have been overwhelmed by the prayers and generosity of our Maranatha partners! God is good, all the time!

Here’s the first of a couple of summer updates as we go along… Though we had 17 groups cancel because of the Covid19 Pandemic and we can run only at 50% capacity with health regulations, we are praising the Lord that Maranatha is one of the three camps in Nebraska that is having a summer camping season! The staff has embraced the intensive cleaning regime, substitute speakers have been recruited for programs…and we have campers for 6 weeks! The Lord has been pleased to rain an abundance of blessings upon us.

The financial picture certainly looks different, now that God has granted an opportunity for us to have this summer ministry. These revenues will soften the financial hit caused by Covid19. We anticipate that they will in all likelihood cover the summer expenses. However, we will not have funds required for the expenses for operational needs from September through April.

Usually, we are able to set funds aside for these months from our summer revenues. This is a vital matter of prayer and the ongoing generosity of our partners. Thank you for joining with us as we continue to journey through this strange year and already prepare for the 2021 summer season.
